With everything going on in the world right now, it’s so easy to become overwhelmed and feel totally powerless. So many important causes are calling for help that it can be impossible to know where to put your money and energy, and really feel that you’re making a difference, to the extent that it often feels easier to hide and hope it all goes away.

This election marks my second as a member of State Fair, and seeing the very real effect we had on Pennsylvania last year (WE HELPED FLIP THE HOUSE!!) has only made me more confident that this is an integral place to focus some of my efforts and be able to see a tangible impact. Voting is only one piece of the puzzle, particularly if you happen to live in a state that historically swings one way - State Fair helps us become support systems for candidates and races across other states that desperately need help getting their message out, increasing the impact we can have as individuals.

Whatever the outcome in Virginia this year, I sleep a little easier at night knowing that my time, energy, and dollars have gone directly to fighting back against the very real threats to our democracy and freedoms happening across the country - from reproductive rights, to LGBTQ+ rights, to the climate crisis, and beyond. I’m so proud to be part of this work, and so happy you’re with us, however you can help. Our voices are being heard, we won’t be silenced, and we will keep fighting.
