Despite non-stop bad news from the federal level making the headlines, the state level remains strong in building and maintaining power, and continues to be the strongest line of defense. This is needed now more than ever, as damaging executive orders influence policy making in right wing majority states.

Since the beginning of the year, we have seen great wins in states supported by The States Project in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Minnesota special elections; a momentous defeat of a Trump/Musk backed candidate in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election by Judge Susan Crawford; and in Florida, voting margins were significantly narrowed in two special elections of heavily red districts.

The opportunities are there, the enthusiasm to put in the work remains alive and we know this kind of momentum can be powerful - let’s not stop now!
