Update on Unstoppable Judge Janet

Although the Republican Majority in the Wisconsin State Legislature threatened impeachment proceedings for the newly elected Democratic Judge Janet Protasiewicz, they have now backed down from this, realizing that they have no grounds for impeachment since she had not even begun to serve and had shown nothing in her conduct before her election, or in her brief time as an electee on the court. Her voters rallied behind her, and the Wisconsin Democratic Party began a $ 4 million campaign to deter Republicans from impeachment proceedings.

This is another victory for Judge Janet and the newly liberal Wisconsin Supreme Court. We will be watching to see how they rule on crucial issues (such as gerrymandering) in the state. This is an exciting time for Democracy in Wisconsin which has its liberal Supreme Court for the first time in 15 years. Congratulations to Judge Janet!
